The Valley View Eagles will square off against the Big Bear Bears at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Valley View will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Valley View's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Liberty. The three-run effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Not much got past Cameron Maciel, who gave up just seven hits to keep Liberty off the board.
On the hitting side, Valley View saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graysen Hasbrouck, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Valley View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Big Bear). They skirted past Rim of the World 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since April 17, 2025.
Jackson Wortham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wortham was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josiah Rufner, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Chase Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Valley View's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Big Bear, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
