Spring Valley has gone a perfect 4-0 against Dreher recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Vikings will square off against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Spring Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Spring Valley made easy work of Aiken and carried off a 13-7 win. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Fighting Green Hornets: they've now won four in a row.
Mollie Lankford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Lankford was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allie Pritchard, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Ropel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Dreher unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 4-0 to North Central on Wednesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.
Rory McCormack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.
Spring Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Dreher, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Spring Valley got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2024 against Dreher by a conclusive 14-3 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
