Softball Recap: Middle Park Wins Going Away Against Lincoln

Middle Park won the last time they faced Lincoln and things went their way on Saturday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 20-7 margin over the Lancers. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

Middle Park got a massive performance out of Sydney Rector, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Rector has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mary Huber, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Middle Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .923. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Middle Park and bumps their season record up to 5-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Lincoln, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coming up, Middle Park will head out to take on Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lincoln, they will challenge Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers will need to watch out since the Commanders have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
