Ottawa extended their postseason success on Friday against Piper. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-22 victory over the Pirates. Winning may never get old, but the Cyclones sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Despite the loss, Piper still got an impressive performance from Roman Byers, who rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Byers has become a key player for the Pirates: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

Ottawa's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Piper, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5.

Ottawa has already played their next contest (against Labette County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Piper does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
