Eaglecrest is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Fort Collins, who was ranked 17th at the time (Eaglecrest was ranked eighth). The Raptors had just enough and edged out the Lambkins 7-6 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raptors.
Lexi Barger was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September. Ryleigh Stufft was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valor Christian). They were the clear victors by a 29-18 margin over Rock Canyon on Saturday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by eight runs or more this season.
Valor Christian got a massive performance out of Maddie Andrews, who went 3-for-5 with five runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Andrews has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Abigail Watson, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.
Valor Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Eaglecrest's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Valor Christian, their win bumped their record up to 16-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Eaglecrest hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Valor Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs.
