The Holtville Vikings were the 67-21 winner over the Southwest EC Eagles when they last played one another back in May of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Holtville fell just short of Southwest EC by a score of 31-28. Holtville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Holtville lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Jasmine Garewal. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Gonzalez, who scored 5 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Holtville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Southwest EC, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Holtville will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Brawley at 3:15 p.m. on November 30th. As for Southwest EC, they will face off against Calexico at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Calexico focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Wednesday.
