Basketball Recap: Ali Jacobs' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carmichaels over Frazier

Carmichaels was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Frazier Commodores at home by a 47-31 margin. One positive for the Mighty Mikes, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Mighty Mikes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ali Jacobs, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelani Chun, who earned six points.

Frazier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie Yauch, who had 13 points. Another player making a difference was Taryn Bateman, who put up eight points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Carmichaels' defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Frazier, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-4.

Carmichaels wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-9 loss against Fort Cherry on the 16th. Frazier has also already played their next game, a 63-44 defeat against Burgettstown on the 16th.
