Meanwhile, Holy Ghost Prep owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Haverford School with a sharp 6-0 win. The Firebirds haven't had any issues with the Fords recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Bam McNabb tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jake Keaser and Eddie Rosado did most of the damage at the plate: Keaser went 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Rosado went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. La Salle College's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Ghost Prep, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Holy Ghost Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: La Salle College has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. It's a different story for Holy Ghost Prep, though, as they've only averaged .359. Will they be able to contain La Salle College's hitters?
La Salle College took their victory against Holy Ghost Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Explorers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
