The Gridley Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Oroville Tigers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Gridley snuck past Oroville with a 48-43 win on Thursday. This was payback for Gridley, who suffered a 44-39 loss the last time these two teams met.
Gridley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from AnaGloria Luevano, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Luevano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brook Marr, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and six blocks.
Despite the loss, Oroville still got an impressive performance from Serenity Miller, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 steals. Miller hasn't dropped below three steals for 17 straight games. Another player making a difference was Lili Kelemen, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Gridley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Oroville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.
Gridley will head out on the road to face off against Las Plumas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oroville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Orland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday.
