The Emerald Ridge Jaguars will head out on the road to challenge the Eastlake Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Eastlake took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Emerald Ridge, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Emerald Ridge didn't have too much trouble with South Kitsap on the road as they won 47-28.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Eastlake's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 72-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodinville. While losing is never fun, Eastlake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Woodinville is ranked third).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tatum Wood, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Sofia Aluas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Emerald Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Eastlake, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.
Emerald Ridge and Eastlake were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, but Emerald Ridge came up empty-handed after a 44-43 loss. Thankfully for Emerald Ridge, Ava Schmidt (who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
