The Patterson Tigers will face off against the Central Catholic Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Thursday, Patterson needed a bit of extra time to put away Enochs. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Jonathan Verdugo made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Patterson: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 2-4 otherwise. Verdugo was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
Verdugo wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Pierce, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Central Catholic sidestepped Manteca for a 4-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Buffaloes: they've now won five in a row.
Like Patterson, Central Catholic also got a great game from a two-way player: Marcus Davenport. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Davenport was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joe Farinha, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
Central Catholic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Patterson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Patterson came up short against Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 5-1. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
