The Carmel Padres's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Tuesday after their 16th straight  loss. They took a  54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rancho San Juan. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Carmel of the  46-34 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture  on January 10th.
 Despite the  defeat, Carmel saw an underclassman step up:  Myah Koster  dropped  a double-double on 22 points and 17  rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Koster has scored all season.  Chloe LeMaster was another key contributor,  scoring eight points along with three  steals.
 Carmel dropped their record down to 1-18 with that  defeat, which was their seventh straight  at home. As for Rancho San Juan,  the  victory  got them back to even at 10-10.
 Carmel will head out on the road to  face off against  the Aztecs at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Soledad is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last seven games. As for Rancho San Juan, they will look to defend their home court  on Thursday against the Pirates at 7:00  p.m.
