Kennedy hasn't had much luck against Moreau Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Kennedy Titans will take on the Moreau Catholic Mariners at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If Kennedy beats Moreau Catholic with 49 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Kennedy came out on top against Newark Memorial by a score of 49-36 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Kennedy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Payton Siquig, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, and Catherine Cheng, who went 6 of 14 en route to 18 points and three steals. Siquig has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Izabella Velazquez, who posted two points in addition to seven boards and six assists.
Meanwhile, Moreau Catholic waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They skirted past the Huskies 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mariners have posted since December 7, 2024.
Moreau Catholic's win came from a few key players Kennedy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Elisa Ortega, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 18 points. What's more, she also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Kaliya Kirkwood was another key player, putting up six points and 22 rebounds.
Moreau Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Kennedy, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Siquig and Mahlaysia Atkins. Siquig has been dynamite this season: she has averaged 18.5 points, 4 steals, and 6 boards. For her part, Atkins has averaged 11.5 points and 1.1 steals.
Kennedy might still be hurting after the 57-36 loss they got from Moreau Catholic in their previous matchup back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Kennedy was down 36-14.
