Weatherford came tearing into Saturday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Granbury Pirates by a score of 69-58. Given the Kangaroos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Pirates are ranked 541st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Weatherford pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Granbury, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weatherford will head out to face off against Wilmer-Hutchins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Granbury, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wylie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Granbury knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Wylie likes a good challenge.
