Roane County is 0-7 against Scott since April of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Raiders will challenge the Skyhawks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Roane County's victory against Clay County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders skirted past the Panthers 5-4. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Carter Kinder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Landen Williams was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Scott got the win against Clay County on Monday by a conclusive 14-2. The Skyhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Roane County, Scott also got a great game from a two-way player: Hunter Woodrum. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Woodrum has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Scott let Jason Ferrell and Ian Prince run wild. Ferrell went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Prince went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Neal, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs.
Scott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Roane County's record now sits at 12-16. As for Scott, their record is now 21-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Roane County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Scott struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Roane County suffered a grim 14-8 defeat to Scott when the teams last played last Saturday. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
