The Annenberg Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Downtown Magnets Suns at 2:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Annenberg unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Central City Value 27-22.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Downtown Magnets, who are still winless after their 14th matchup. They were the victim of a tough 35-14 loss at the hands of USC-MAE on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Downtown Magnets has suffered since December 8, 2023.
Annenberg's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Downtown Magnets, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-14.
Everything came up roses for Annenberg against Downtown Magnets when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 60-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Annenberg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
