The San Pedro Pirates had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They snuck past Carson with a 50-45 win. That's another feather in the cap for San Pedro, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
San Pedro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shalia Coleman out in front who scored 23 points along with three steals. Coleman is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelani Raigans, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Carson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madison Wheeler. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. Wheeler also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Faith Woodson was another key contributor, scoring no points along with 13 rebounds and eight assists.
San Pedro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Carson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11.
San Pedro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carson also has no future games currently scheduled.
