The St. Joseph Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 25 points or more this season. They breezed by Hillel Academy at home to the tune of 74-8. St. Joseph's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
St. Joseph's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julie Spinelli led the charge by scoring 16 points along with four steals. The contest was Spinelli's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gia Richter, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.
St. Joseph pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.5 points. As for Hillel Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Coincidentally, St. Joseph and Hillel Academy will both be playing Leechburg the next time they take the court. Hillel Academy will host Leechburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while St. Joseph will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
