The Greenbrier Wolfpack will challenge the Fox Creek Predators at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Greenbrier sitting on three straight wins and Fox Creek on six.
On Friday, Greenbrier earned a 5-2 victory over Lakeside.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fox Creek). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Keenan a 27-0 shutout on Friday. The Predators' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.
Bradley Anderson made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Devin Hillary was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Weathersbee, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI.
Fox Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Fox Creek pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Greenbrier, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Everything went Greenbrier's way against Fox Creek when the teams last played back in March of 2019, as Greenbrier made off with a 10-0 victory. Will Greenbrier repeat their success, or does Fox Creek has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
