Basketball Game Preview: Temecula Prep Patriots vs. Desert Christian Academy Conquerors

Temecula Prep is 0-5 against Desert Christian Academy since January of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Temecula Prep Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Temecula Prep sitting on four straight victories and Desert Christian Academy on five.

Last Monday, Temecula Prep was fully in charge, breezing past Santa Rosa Academy 50-8. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 26 points or more this season.

Temecula Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bailey Litt, who posted six points and seven steals. Litt is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Alvarado, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

Temecula Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 31 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Desert Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with San Jacinto Valley Academy on Wednesday as they won 42-25.

Temecula Prep pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points per game. As for Desert Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.

Temecula Prep came up short against Desert Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 49-45. Can Temecula Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
