The California Condors entered their tilt with the Santa Fe Chiefs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. California came out on top against Santa Fe by a score of 50-37 on Friday. Given California's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Santa Fe is ranked 733rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Santa Fe's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Leon, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Gonzalez, who scored eight points.
California has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Santa Fe, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-13.
California will head out on the road to take on Lakewood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Fe, they will be playing at home against Whittier at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
