The St. Francis Sharks will head out on the road to square off against the North Monterey County Condors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. Francis comes in on 13 and North Monterey County on five.
St. Francis scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 71-43 victory over Gonzales at home. St. Francis has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Maya Calfee was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 25 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Raich, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, North Monterey County strolled past King City with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 48-33.
St. Francis' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for North Monterey County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
St. Francis didn't have too much breathing room in their game against North Monterey County in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 48-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Francis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
