The Monterey Dores entered their tilt with the North Salinas Vikings with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Monterey skirted past North Salinas 43-40. This was payback for Monterey, who suffered a 80-31 loss the last time these two teams met.
Monterey's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Susana Latu, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Daniels, who scored 15 points.
Monterey pushed their record up to 8-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for North Salinas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Monterey will be playing at home against Salinas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Salinas, they will head out on the road to face off against Watsonville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Watsonville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
