After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kimball, the Freedom Falcons were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Mission San Jose by a score of 51-39. This was payback for Freedom, who suffered a 36-31 loss the last time these two teams met.
Freedom's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eve Monzon led the charge by scoring 23 points. The contest was Monzon's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ariel De La O, who scored 16 points.
Freedom's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Mission San Jose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freedom will take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. As for Mission San Jose, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome American at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
