Greeley Central had lost seven straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 2-20 to make it eight. They came up short against the Severance Silver Knights, falling 18-1. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly 17 runs.

Greeley Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ziva Travis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. Travis has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.
As for Severance, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-4-1. The result was nothing new for the Silver Knights, who have now won 13 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
On Severance's side, Camryn Henneke and Elizabeth Stimatze made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Henneke pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Stimatze tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Henneke posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in August. At the plate, Henneke went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Stimatze went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Henneke also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Severance let Taylor Steenburgen and Kenzy Henneke run wild. Steenburgen went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Henneke went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Carly Zentveld, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Greeley Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-0 loss against Timnath on the 9th. As for Severance, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-5 tie against Wellington on the 10th.
