The Parkway Central Colts will square off against the Fox Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Parkway Central 3.4, Fox 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Parkway Central took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Parkway North with a sharp 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won nine games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Olivia Knock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Knock was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Parkway Central got a big performance out of Gianna Pearson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Magruder, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Parkway Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Fox's offense. They came up short against Lindbergh on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this contest were averaging four runs allowed.
With the victory, Parkway Central broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-5. As for Fox, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Parkway Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Fox struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Parkway Central beat Fox 14-11 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Colts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
