There's no place like home for the Covenant Day Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They secured a 59-55 W over Providence Day on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Covenant Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Marcus Jr. led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Elijah Green was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Covenant Day's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-6. As for Providence Day, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Day will take on Charlotte Country Day School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Providence Day, they will head out on the road to face off against Cannon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cannon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 25 games -- so hopefully Providence Day likes a good challenge.
