In Tuesday's league outing, the Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting Providence Day Chargers (Charlotte, NC), by a margin of 59-55.

The Lions (12-6) will now prepare for their outing against Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC). The Buccaneers go into the NCISAA Charlotte Independent outing with a 16-5 record. In their last outing, Charlotte Country Day School held off Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, NC), 53-48, in a league outing.

The Chargers now own a 16-6 record. They play next when they travel to Cannon for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent outing on Friday, January 19. Providence Day will clash with a Cougars squad coming off a 86-58 league win over Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 19-6.
