Basketball Recap: Elmira Extends Winning Streak to Three

Elmira hadn't done well against Newport recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Elmira Falcons walked away with a 45-32 win over the Newport Cubs. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Elmira's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Newport, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Elmira Falcons face off against the East Linn Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newport, they will take on Junction City at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
