The Yosemite Badgers lost against the Fowler Redcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Yosemite lost to Fowler on the road by a decisive 56-40 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Yosemite in their matchups with Fowler: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Yosemite still got an impressive performance from Jadyn Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Johnson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Izzy Harper, who scored three points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Yosemite dropped their record down to 7-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Fowler, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yosemite will square off against Sierra at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sierra presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Yosemite in California (Sierra is ranked 337th, while Yosemite is ranked 1052nd). As for Fowler, they will head out on the road to take on Caruthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Caruthers has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 544 points over their last eight contests.
