Emiliano Rubio made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played.
Meanwhile, Woodland Christian had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Jayden Badhesha, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Vacaville Christian off the board. The dominant performance gave Badhesha a new career-high in strikeouts.
On the hitting side, Jordan Villanuva was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Mann, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Woodland Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vacaville Christian only posted an OBP of .100.
Woodland Christian's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Highlands, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Highlands has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Woodland Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
