Pinecrest Academy is 2-7 against Lakeview Academy since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Pinecrest Academy Paladins will host the Lakeview Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Pinecrest Academy has six wins , while Lakeview Academy has four).
While Pinecrest Academy's victory against Cornerstone Prep Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Pinecrest Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Cornerstone Prep Academy on Tuesday, sneaking past 7-5. The seven-run effort marked the Paladins' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Mateo Snyder was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Matthew Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Lakeview Academy never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Westminster Christian Academy. Fans of Lakeview Academy have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Ricky Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Lakeview Academy let Izze Longoria and Brock Graham run wild. Longoria scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Graham scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Longoria has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nolan Idol, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Lakeview Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Pinecrest Academy pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Lakeview Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pinecrest Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Lakeview Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
