The Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils were the 40-33 winner over the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Shenandoah Valley falling 50-33. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Schuylkill Haven to victory were Anna Schaeffer and Mckenna Runkle. Schaeffer scored 14 points, while Runkle scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schaeffer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Hutchinson, who scored eight points.
Shenandoah Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Schuylkill Haven, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Shenandoah Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Line Mountain at 2:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Schuylkill Haven, they will head out on the road to challenge Mahanoy Area at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mahanoy Area will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 540th, while Schuylkill Haven is ranked 188th).
