Barstow has won four straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Burroughs has won four straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Aztecs will welcome the Burros at 3:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Barstow 3.7, Burroughs 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Barstow will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Apple Valley, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Aztecs walked away with a 7-4 win over the Sun Devils on Saturday. While the Aztecs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Trevor Shenk made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Ben Seidenkranz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Burroughs got themselves on the board against Adelanto on Thursday, but Adelanto never followed suit. They blew past the Saints 14-0. The Burros might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Like Barstow, Burroughs also got a great game from a two-way player: Cael Rivera. On the mound, Rivera tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Kanon Schiller pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Rivera got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Schiller went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Schiller has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Steve Lormand, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Colby Bachman was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one double.
Barstow's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Burroughs, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Barstow might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Burroughs when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Aztecs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
