Wasco is 2-8 against Taft since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wasco Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Taft Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Wasco and three for Taft.
Wasco suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Delano by a score of 42-40.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Gabi Milligan, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Camila Almanza, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Wasco were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Taft lost to Chavez on the road by a decisive 47-28 margin on Friday.
Wasco bumped their record down to 3-15 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Taft, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Wasco came up short against Taft in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 45-39. Can Wasco avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
