The Del Valle Cardinals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Anderson, falling 49-17. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Del Valle in their matchups with Anderson: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Anderson to victory were Ed Small and Brady Gephart. Small picked up 61 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Gephart threw for 171 yards and four touchdowns.
Del Valle's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Westlake and 12-2 Dripping Springs (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.7% over those games). As for Anderson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dripping Springs the next time they take the field. Del Valle will host Dripping Springs at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th, while Anderson will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
