Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Central Christian walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Oakwood Christian Eagles with a sharp  9-3 win on Monday. Considering the Crusaders have won nine games by more than five  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Luke Sweatman was a  major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. Those  seven  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. That  double was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Stephen Binggeli was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI and one  triple. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was  Nick DiCicco, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double.
The  victory made it two in a row for Central Christian and  bumps their season record up to 12-8. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Oakwood Christian,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 8-5.
 Central Christian and Oakwood Christian are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Crusaders will square off against Hearts Academy on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  victory, something Central Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oakwood Christian, they will head out on the road to  take on  Varsity Opponent  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
