Anthony Gonzalez turned in yet another pitching appearance with more than six strikeouts on Tuesday. He turned in nothing short of a gem: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.
Even though Gonzalez couldn't lead Montgomery over Bonita Vista, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gonzalez has dominated as far as innings are concerned (he's averaged 5.2 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering Bonita Vista has only allowed 5.43 per game this season.
