The Duarte Falcons can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 58-26 victory over Azusa. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Duarte has posted against Azusa since May 10, 2021.
Despite the loss, Azusa still got an impressive performance from Evelin Villalva, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Villalva has scored all season. Ruby Untoria was another key contributor, scoring three points along with six rebounds.
Duarte has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Azusa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Sierra Vista the next time they take the court. Duarte will head out to face Sierra Vista at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Azusa will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
