The Cedaredge Bruins are taking a road trip to take on the Moffat County Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cedaredge knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Moffat County likes a good challenge.
Cedaredge will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Delta, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bruins put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-2 victory on Thursday. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Tia Homedew was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jewel Laliberte, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Emery Stirnkorb also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Cedaredge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Moffat County came up short against Aspen on Tuesday, falling 22-7.
Josie Terry led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Rylie Cook was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Cedaredge's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-5. As for Moffat County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cedaredge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .425. However, it's not like Moffat County struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Cedaredge's way against Moffat County when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Cedaredge made off with a 19-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
