Baseball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale suffered their closest loss since March 8th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Parlier Panthers by a score of 8-6. The Cowboys were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 10-6.

Ashkari Arredondo and EMMANUEL BOJORQUEZ did some serious damage despite the final result: Arredondo scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while BOJORQUEZ scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Riverdale is 2-1 when BOJORQUEZ posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of ALEJANDRO SOLORIO, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The defeat snapped Riverdale's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-9 record. As for Parlier, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 4-7 record.

Coming up, Riverdale will take on Strathmore at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Parlier, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fowler at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
