The Park Tudor Panthers and the Sheridan Blackhawks squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Park Tudor Panthers had to settle for second. The match between them and the Blackhawks wasn't particularly close, with the Panthers falling 55-40. While losing is never fun, Park Tudor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 131st).
Sheridan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenzie Garner, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Garner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nova Cross, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Park Tudor's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Sheridan, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.
Park Tudor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sheridan won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Covenant Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
