Basketball Recap: Venture Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Venture Academy extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Kelyiana Neal. The Venture Academy Mustangs took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 53-26 win over the Turlock Christian Eagles thanks in part to Neal, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Venture Academy's points.

Kimora Crawford was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 17 boards and six steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Faith Hayes and Christiana Eivaz certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Hayes posted ten points along with six rebounds and four blocks, while Eivaz put up six points and nine boards. Eivaz is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last eight games she's played.

Venture Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to assists: they averaged an imposing 6.33 assists in those games compared to only 6.33 in the others. As for Turlock Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Venture Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Turlock Christian, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Turlock Christian Eagles take on the Millennium Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
