Scripps Ranch is 10-0 against University City since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Scripps Ranch Falcons will welcome the University City Centurions at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Scripps Ranch has three straight wins, University City has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Last Tuesday, Scripps Ranch didn't have too much trouble with Otay Ranch as they won 65-46.

Scripps Ranch can attribute much of their success to Ree Ree Davis, who went 12 of 20 en route to 27 points along with eight steals and five assists, and Clare Valentine, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. Another player making a difference was Katrina Purcell, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and three blocks.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Scripps Ranch was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, University City lost 51-28 to Morse on Tuesday.
Scripps Ranch will have to keep a close watch on Kianna Lefear and Kami Demara, a pair of players who had a big impact on University City's prior game. Lefear earned 11 points, while Demara put up eight points and three steals. Demara is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Keke Washington also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
Scripps Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for University City, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Scripps Ranch has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like University City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Scripps Ranch against University City when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 54-23 win. Will Scripps Ranch repeat their success, or does University City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
