The Bernstein Dragons had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 39-26 win over Mendez on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bernstein also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
It was another big night for Odali Rivera, who scored 23 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bernstein's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlin Mendez, who scored six points.
Bernstein's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Mendez, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Bernstein won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grand Terrace at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Grand Terrace focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. As for Mendez, they will head out on the road to take on Hollywood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Hollywood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
