The Truckee Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the North Valleys Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Truckee's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Hug with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Colby Jitloff looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Arata, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. He has become a key player for Truckee: the team is 10-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Jackson Wicks was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Truckee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, North Valleys' rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They blew past Wooster 15-0.
Austin Dozier was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Caden Birch was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two triples. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brooks Anderline, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
North Valleys' victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Truckee, their record is now 16-8.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Truckee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like North Valleys struggles in that department as they've averaged .388. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
