The Lake Minneola Hawks will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls at 7:30 p.m. Lake Minneola has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 347 points over their last seven matchups.
Lake Minneola had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past Haines City with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 35-16.
Lake Minneola's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Kania, who picked up 152 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Hughes, who threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt.
Meanwhile, Wiregrass Ranch didn't have too much trouble with Springstead at home on Friday as they won 45-27. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wiregrass Ranch.
Wiregrass Ranch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Riggins out in front who picked up 250 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Riggins' longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards. Luke Knight was another key contributor, throwing for 253 yards and three touchdowns.
Lake Minneola has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 8-3 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.5 points per game. As for Wiregrass Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
