The Berwick Bulldogs lost against the Central Columbia Bluejays back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Berwick received a tough blow as they fell 45-27 to Central Columbia. While losing is never fun, Berwick can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while Central Columbia is ranked 45th).
Defeat or not, Berwick got some senior leadership from Gabby Starr who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds and RaeAnna Andreas who scored 11 points. Starr scored a full 48.1% of Berwick's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Berwick struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Berwick's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Central Columbia, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Berwick will play host again and welcome Dallas, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central Columbia and Bloomsburg will round out the year against one another at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th at.
