The Central Falcons pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Chopticon at home by a decisive 78-60 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (56), Central still had to take the loss.
Chopticon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Pernell, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian McMahon, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-5-1 record this season. As for Chopticon, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.
Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crossland at 7:15 p.m. on January 9th. Chopticon is on the road again on Friday and play against Fairmont Heights at 12:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Fairmont Heights has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 308 points over their last four matchups.
