Baseball Recap: California Lutheran Wins Going Away Against Hamilton

While California Lutheran put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Hamilton. The C-Hawks put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering the C-Hawks have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Colton McGee made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. California Lutheran is 7-1 when McGee posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mathias Galanos, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.

California Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

California Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Hamilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. California Lutheran will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on United Christian Academy at 2:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Hamilton, they will venture away from home to take on Calipatria at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
